Born in 1995 and still proudly family-owned, onsrun is an Austin-based destination for runners, hikers, and everyday movers. Our team is a lively mix of marathon finishers, trail-ultra fanatics, collegiate sprinters, certified gait analysts, and weekend walkers who all share one obsession: helping you enjoy every mile. We believe great gear, honest advice, and a smile go farther than any sales pitch—whether you shop online or lace up with us in-store.

Inside our 8,000 sq ft experience shop—and the 30,000 sq ft warehouse behind it—you’ll find more than 1,800 footwear styles, performance apparel for every season, recovery tools, and nutrition essentials. Want to fine-tune your stride? Step onto our in-store test track and let our RunForm™ video analysis zero in on your perfect shoe. From 5 a.m. run-club meet-ups to post-work yoga pop-ups, onsrun is built to fuel goals at every fitness level.

Meet Rocket!

Say hello to Rocket, our rescued blue heeler and unofficial “Chief Motivation Officer.” You’ll spot him trotting alongside demo runs on the river trail or lounging behind the register waiting for head scratches. His infectious energy reminds us to keep things playful and welcoming.

Our Story

It all started when founder Maya Ortiz couldn’t find the right spikes for her high-school track team. Determined to serve local athletes better, she opened a tiny 400 sq ft shop stocked with only six shoe models and a lot of heart. Word spread, group runs grew, and soon Maya’s brother, Alex, joined to lead community outreach. By 2008, onsrun launched its first e-commerce site; today, orders ship worldwide from our solar-powered distribution hub—but our neighborhood roots are as strong as ever.

Three generations now call onsrun home. Maya’s daughter, Lena, heads sustainability initiatives, swapping plastic shipping tape for plant-based glue and partnering with brands that upcycle ocean plastics. Many team members have logged a decade or more with us, and every new hire goes through “Runner’s First Steps,” a two-week immersion covering biomechanics, product tech, and the art of genuine conversation.

From free injury-prevention clinics to charity 10Ks that fund local park trails, we lace up with you every step of the way.
